Winter just won’t seem to let go, but super awesome director Jake Davis teamed up with The Walkmen seem to make it okay.

The Step Kids are the first of several new bands announced to Stones Throw records 2011 lineup. And we love it. Stones Throw is notorious for releasing contemporary bands that sound like they just got off tour with Steely Dan. Bands that record with intent to mix for vinyl are a dying breed, 70’s psych rock bands are also a dying breed. We’d like to see the return of both.

Over the last few years Run for Cover records has been killing it, we pretty much just listen to just about any band they send us. And approve. We cant help it. Which is why we always get excited when we hear that they are teaming up with someone new. In this case it’s Daylight, with the promise of a few acoustic tracks, another EP, and a full length planned for 2012, here’s to hoping the world doesn’t end before then.

Yes we are aware of how late we are posting this, but we’ve been busy, we have a lot of big things happening in the near future. One of which is Bonnaroo. And instead of listing the lineup here, i’m gonna save us some time and let Conan here do it for us.
